"devices and printers" not showing anything
I have installed three network printers on my new Windows 7 install. They print OK. However, when I open "Devices and Printers", the device area is blank and the summary says "0 items". I am running from a restricted administrator account. How can I get my devices to show in Devices and Printers?

Hi,It seems that Devices and Printers doesn't collect related printer device metadata. Generally, if the device displays in Devices and Printers, the related device metadata is located in the following folder:C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Device Metadata\dmrccache\en-USPlease navigate to this folder and see if any printer package is stored, you can manually delete it and re-add the printer. Generally, there are two ways to add a printer. You can either click Add a printer in Devices and Printers==> Add a network, wireless or Bluetooth printer==> Select the printer==> Install driver if it prompts you to do so==> Click next==>Click Finish, or you can open a notepad, word or pdf file==>click File==>Print==>Find printer==>Find now==>Select the printer==>Click OK==>Click next==>Click Finish. Best RegardsDale

Hi, I ran a script from John Cena that reregistered the IE8 dll's. After rebooting the computer, the Devices and Printers window was populated. Thanks, Niel

I've deleted the contents of the dmrccache directory. So I opened Devices and Printers again and it showed my devices. Closed and opened again, it didn't work anymore. Deleted the contents of dmrccache again and it worked again. Closed and opened again, it didn't worked. So I deleted the contents again and restarted. Login and opened Devices and Printers, worked. Closed and opened a few times and it worked. So I started to browse the web a little and after few minutes I tried to open Devices and Printers again and didn't work!!! With all others users (3 more here) the Devices and Printers works perfectly, but with my user, it doesn't. Any Idea? Thanks

Most likely, one or both of your BluTooth services are disabled. Set them to Manual or Automatic and your Devices and Printers applet will probably work.
